Vacamas programs for Youth is
a non-profit organization founded in 1924 by a group of dedicated business
people and educators. The organization is committed to enabling children of low
income families to enjoy positive experiences. Over 5,000 children from the New
York Metropolitan area benefit from our services.
Today this commitment has been
extended to year-round programs that serve the diverse population found in the
New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. We provide groups positive and
nurturing, but challenging experiences. Camp Vacamas can be found in the
foothills of the Ramapo Mountains of rural New Jersey, only 45 minutes from
mid-town Manhattan. At camp we are surrounded by the natural beauty of 500 acres
of wooded land and 50 acre spring-fed lake.
Some people call it a
haven, many call it HOME.
